Summery :
This study aimed to examine the efficacy of training program to develop the personal communication skills among a sample of Administrative leaders in order to do so, the current study tried to answer the following basic question :
“What are the effects-if any- of the proposed training program to develop personal communications skills among administrative leader on their performance ? The previous basic question could be divided to some secondary questions as follow :
1. Are there significant differnces between the rank means of the experimental group and the control group on communication skills scales at the pretest phase ?
2. Are there significant differnces between the rank means of the experimental group and the control group on communication skills scales at the post-test phase ?
3. Are there significent differences in rank means of the communication skills scales of the experimental group between the pre-test and post-test phases ?
4. Are there significent differences in rank means of the communication skills scales of the control group between the pre-test and post-test phases ?
5. Are there significant differences in rank means of the communication skills scales of the experimental group between the post-test phase and the follow-up phase (after one month) ?
The importance of this study appears in providing important, real, applicable information about communication skills and method of its development, in Arabic literature in general and in the Egyptian literature specially. To achieve that, the current study used pre-post test experimental design with two groups (Experimental-and-control).
According to previous theoritical and emprical literature, the current study formulate the following hypotheses :
1. There are no significant differences in rank means of the experimental group and the control group on communication skills scales in the pre-test phase.
2. There are significant differences in rank means of the experimental group and the control group on communication skills scales in the post-test phase. (in favor of the Ex. Group)
3. There are significant differences in rank means of the Experimental group on communication skill scales between the pre-test and post-test phases, in favor of the post test phase.
4. There are no significant differences in rank means of the control group on communication skill scales between the pre-test and post-test phases, in favor of the post test phase.
5. There are significant differences in rank means of communication skills scale of the experimental group between the post-test and the follow-up phase. (after one month) in favor of the follow-up phase.
The sample of the current study consisted of 12 leaders (6 in the experimenal group, 6 in the control group). Leaders in both groups were equivallent in age, Education, gender, Managerial performance.
The current study used a battery of scales includings :
1. Listening skill scale (prepared by the researcher).
2. Effective, scilent, ropid reading scale (prepared by the researcher).
3. Clear writing scale (prepared by the Reasearcher).
4. Argumentation skill scale (prepared by Prof. Tarif Shawky, Prof. Abd El-Monem Shehatah).
5. Data presentation skill scale (prepared by the Reasearcher).
6. Non-verbal communication skill scale (prepared by the researcher).
7. A program to develop personal communication skills (prepared by the researcher).
Due to the sample sizes, the non-parametric statistics are used to test the hypotheses of the current study. These included :
1. Mann-whittney U-test.
2. Wilecoxon test.
The results of the current study sustained. The proposed hypotheses these results are discussed in terms of their agreement of the previous theoritical and empirical literatures.
