Abstract
Three field experiments were carried out during 1976/1977 and 1978 seasons at mallawi agricultural research station to study the effect of planting dates , seeding rates without thinning ( plant to a stand ) and their interaction on plant growth , serliness , seed cotton yield , its components and fibar properties of ashmouni in 1976 seasons and giza 82 oultivers in 1977 and 1978 seasons .
Planting dates were 15/2.1/3.15/3.1/4. and 15/4. while seeding rates were 10.20.30.40 kg seeds pre fdddan and thinned in single plants at 7.5 cm. after 45 days from planting dates split-plot desing with six replication was applied each plots consisted of 60 rows the spacings between rows were 40 cm. alternated with40 cm. alternated with 80cm. as , applied in the mechanizaed system of acotton production in Egypt
