Abstract
EFFECT OF SOWING DATE AND SEEDING RATE ON GROWTH,YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS OF LENTIL(LENS ESCULENTA MOENCH) .
This investigation was carried out at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture Minia University to study the effect of five sowing dates namely, October 20, 30, 45 and 60 kgs. Seed per faddan on some growth characteristics, yield and yield components of lentil Giza 9 variety, during the three successive seasons of 1981/1982, 1982/1983 and 1983/1984 . A split plot design with four replications was used in which planting dates was randomly assigned in the main plots and seeding rates was randomly assigned in thesub plots.
