Abstract
The present investigation was carried out at the agricultural research staion ,at sids(Middle Egypt), agricultural research center (ARC)during 1992/1993,1993/1994 and1994/1995 growing seasons ,to study the performance of some faba bean crosses between local improved cultivars and some genetic resources to combine,in single line (s),the most desirable characters .Six genotypes were selected on genetic and geographical diversity, yielding ability ,and free or presence of tannins .
The first season was assigned to make crosses.the second and third seasons were assigned to test the parents, F1 and F2 generations. A randomized complete block design with three replicates was used .the whole studies were conducted under the self pollination conditions in the screen house.
