Abstract LEWATIT®MONO plus S1 00H and purolite Cl 00 were the two types of chelating resins, which selected and used in the removal of the heavy metal ions from solution and industrial waste by batch technique. The different factors affecting on the metal ions uptake by these chelating resins such as p1-I, stirring time, heavy metal concentration, weight of resin, sodium chloride and temperature were studied. This thesis is divided into four chapters summarized as following Chapter (I) This chapter gives an introduction about the thesis in the explanation of the thesis title and found the solution for the question of the importance of water and the methods for the wastewater treatment. Chapter (II) This chapter gives a comprehensive literature survey on the sorption process by Ion-exchange resins . It includes classification of the types of resin , Ion — exchange kinetics , adsorption isotherms andperformance of selected commercial resins Chapter (III) : • This chapter summarizes the chemicals used , the procedures of experimentation are also given and instruments used are also described. Chapter (IV): This chapter summarizes the results obtained , their analysis and discussion The results showed that the adsorption of Pb2~ for the two types of chelating resin increases by increasing p1-I value, reaching a limiting value pH=7 , followed by a decrease in adsorption beyond the limiting value. This is the same for the adsorption of Cd2. |
