Abstract
Atherosclerosis is one of the most fatal diseases in this decade. Oxidized LDL is the staring point of atherosclerosis, so decreasing oxidation of LDL is an effective treatment of atherosclerosis and this forms the new therapeutic relationship between atherosclerosis , CAD and antioxidant agents which decrease LDL oxidation. Antioxidants such as vitamin E, A and C play an important role in the treatment of atherosclerosis. Our present study showed the effects of CCl4 on the level of cholesterol, HDL- cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. There was a marked increase in the level of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol , while the levels of HDL-cholesterol had decreased.
