Abstract
The number of medical publications is increasing exponentially and different studied on the same issue may produce conflicting results. Thus, it is difficult to keep abreast of the development even in one’s own field on the basis of clinical research data.
However, small sample size of the study and the methodological short coming in the study, made the assessment of MR findings in traumatic elbow pain questionable. There is evidence that inappropriate detail presentation may increase the estimates of test accuracy. As well as, inconsistent MR methods and variable reporting of findings render combination of the results difficult.
There is a need for well-designed studies in which clinical features and occupational backgrounds as well as imaging parameters are carefully documented.
With further advances in imaging technique and software, the ability to detect ligamentous injures will continue to improve, allowing for more expedition and accurate diagnosis.
