Abstract
We tried in this essay to study new methods in the treatment of varicose veins, which became represent more than 20% of disease allover the world.
We started by a brief review of anatomy of veins of lower limb and the most common variations.
Also, we had to discuss the etiology and pathophysiology of varicose veins.
1) Primary varicose veins which has predisposing factors as:
- Congenital incompetence of the valve due to weakness or absence followed by varicosities.
- Defective structure of the vein wall.
- Impaired venous tone.
And there are precipitating factors which differs from person to person as: pregnancy, obesity, prolonged standing…etc.
