Abstract

Acute GI bleeding comprises an acute physiologic and emotional crisis, which require intensive and complex nursing care. So it is essential that the nurse should have the knowledge and skills to regain hemodynamic stability, decrease the morbidity & mortality rate and prevent complications associated with such condition. Nursing care for pts with acute 01 bleeding should be held to meet the complex physiological and psychological needs of such group of pts. To assess nurses performance for pt with acute GI bleeding within the first twenty four hours.
Research setting : The research was conducted at medical and endoscopic units at the liver institute menofya university .
The subjects of the present study consisted of ( 100 adult patients ( from both sexes ) who already diagnosed with acute GI bleeding regardless their educational level. Also, ( 50 ) nurses caring for pts with bleeding either.
