Abstract This work was aimed to study the influences of two factors, nitrogenous fertilizer and plant growth regulator treatments and their interaction effects on the various growth aspects and oil yield of yarrow (Achillea millefolium, L.) plants. Ammonium nitrate was used as three side dressings at the rate of 0, 100, 200 and 3OO kg/faddan. fhe plants Were sprayed three times with either GA3 at 25, 50 and 100 ppm, Kinetin at 12.5, 25 and 50 ppm, Alar-85 at 250, 500 and 1000 ppm or Coumarin at 2.5 , 5 and 10 ppm. throughout the growing season, the flowering tops were collected five and four times in the first and second seasons, respectively In the first season, the obtained results indicate that the dry weight of flowering tops of control and treated plants at the second cut was higher than those of the first one, and the highest weight was obtained from the third cut. Thereafter, a slight decrease was observed and the minimum weight was obtained from the fifth cut. In the second season, in treated and untreated plants the flowering tops weight was increased from the first to reach its maximum at the second cut and then gradually declined till the fourth cut. |
