Abstract This experiment. was carried out during 2001 and,2002 seasons at the Tropical Farm at Kom Ombo under directorate of Botanical Garden, Aswan and at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, EI-Minia University. The aim of this investigation was to study the response of vegetative growth and chemical composition of the seedlings of two tree species, Dalbergia sissoo and Parkinsonia aculeata to three soil types namely, clay, sand and a mixture of clay + sand (1:1 by Wt) and seven NPK fertilizer combinations (NoPoKo, N1P1K1, N2P1K1, N3P1K1, N2P2K1, N3P2K1 and N3P3K1) as well as their interaction. The amounts of No, N1, N2 and N3 were 0,2,4 and 6 g/bag of ammonium sulphate (20.6% N), while Po, P1, P2 and P3 were 0, 1, 2, and 3 g/bag of calcium superphosphate (15.5% P2Os) and those of Ko and K1 were 0 and 2 g/bag of potassium sulphate (48% K20). qifferent vegetative growth parameters were recorded and N, P and K percentage and content were determined. |
