Abstract
The present investigation was carried out in two
consecutive years 1983 and 1984 to study the effect of ethrel, 2,4-D and gamma radiation on the ripening of tamopan, Costata and Triumph persimmon fruits.
Fruits of each variety were picked and selected to be at uniform stage of maturity and free from any rupture. Samples of each variety were washed with tap water and left to be airly dried, then, treated as follows:-
(1)Immersing in ethrel at a concentration of lO ppm.
(2)Immersing in ethrel at a concentration of 20 ppm.
(3) Immersing in 2,4-D at a concentration of 1000 ppm
(4)Immersing in 2,4-D at a concentration of 2000 ppm,
(5) Irradiated with 50 Krad.
(6) Irradiated with 100 Krad.
(7) Without any treatment (control).
It is worth to mention that immersing in either ethrel and 2,4-D was carried out for three minutes.
