Abstract This work wes carried out at Animal production De partment, Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University ; through the years of 1978 and 1979 , to study some productive aspects in Pekin ducks and their meat quality. Seven hundred of pekin duoklings, hatched through May 1978 , were used in this experiment. From hatch to sexual maturity, birds were weighed biweekly and food consumption was recorded to calculate relative growth rate and efficiency of feed utilization. Monthly randum samples, including six ducks(3 males and 3 females) were slaughtered to study the dev¬elopmental changes of different parts and meet quality as measured by physical, chemical and histological met¬hods .Moreover meat deterioration was determined chemically by measuring acidity and free amino nitrogen.Besides, body composition ( moistura,protein , fat and ash) was determined in whole body after killing by chloroform inhalation method. |
