Abstract Endotracheal intubation for respiratory support of critically ill patients is a standard life saving form of therapy, and many procedures in ICUs require endotracheal in order to maintain adequate ventilation for patients. The critically ill patients are highly dependent on skilled nurses throughout all aspect of their care, one of these aspect is ETT cuff management. The main advantage of using ETT with HVLP cuff are that offer protection from cuff induced complications. Under-inflation of the ETT cuff put the patients at high risk for aspiration, and over-inflation may cause ischemic. |
