Abstract
The present study was performed on 50 primigravidae, admitted to Bar- Ismail Maternity Hospital at the latent phase of delivery. Complete history was taken and clin¬ical examination was done for each case. All the cases were normally pregnant. The aim of this work was to study the effect of stress of labor on the liver functions. In order to do this, two blood samples were taken from each case, the first one was taken on admission ( at the latent phase of delivery). The second blood sample was taken immedi¬ately after delivery of the fetus.
