Abstract The main object of this work was to study some of the trace elements cadmium, zinc, copper and iron in IFF . The serum levels of these trace matels were measured in cases ofidiopathic interstitial pulmonary fibrosis and the possible relationship between these different serum levels and the various clinical parameters during the cours of the disease was explored.The material of this study comprised two groups:Group A: 16 patients with interstial pulmonary fibrosis.Group B : 10 normal persons (controul group).Both groups have been subjected to clinical radiological, pulmonary functions, orterial gasometry, and measurment of serum levels of trace elements cadmium , zinc, copper and iron,Clinicel study in patients with IPF in this work revealed that all the patient of exertional dyspnea of varying degree. 54% of the cases complained of dry irritating cough and 20% of the cases complained of wasting and wheight loss. 26.6 of the patients complained of dullaching chest pain 33.3% of the cases presented by fatigue.Examination revealed that all the patients presented by tachypnoea. 66.7 of them presented by cyanosis at rest which deepens after exercise. All of the cases presented by cyanosis after exercise . |
