Abstract The role of corticosteroid is well established in patients with asthma, but the role of steroids in treatment of airway obstruction due to chronic bronchitis and emphysema is less clear out. The present work aimed at the study of the effect of corticosteroids on stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Ten patients diagnosed as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, without evident history of bronchial asthma, were subjected to the measurement of FEV . |
