Abstract

Agents dependence is a major problem all over the world, as from old times, human beings have looked for substance and created methods to make life more pleasurable and to avoid discomfort ,decrease pain and frustrations for the purpose of changing his mood. So, the primitive man has looked for substances around him, particularly in the plant kingdom and his continuous researchs led to the discovery of valuable medicinal plant many of them affect mind.Bhang is well known as a hallucinogenic agent and its use Js increasing progressively allover the world as it is believed that it promotes spiritual growth, enhance perception and open up reality achieving the high.The aim of this work was to study of some toxic(histological,histochemical and genotoxic) effects of repeated administration of bhang in Albino rats; role of antioxidant and Naloxone during withdrawal period.A pilot study was carried out on experimental rats to reach to the most affected organs histologicaly ,histochemicaly and DNA when rats received bhang which were liver, kidney , brain and testis . Also chromosomal changes could be detected to be obvious when dealing with the bone marrow of femur rats .
