Abstract Modeling, analysis and performance distributed database concurrency control concerned in this study. evaluation of algorithms are A general detailed model for concurrency control in distributed database systems which provides a framework to study the performance of different concurrency control algorithms is presented. Performance criteria to evaluate different algorithms are discussed and prepented. Analytic queueing models, as well as queueing network models for different classes of concurrency control algorithms in distributed database systems, are developed. These models are verified by simulation . The computational and simulation results of analytic and simulation models are studied. A sensitivity study of performance to environment parameters and solution is given. A probabilistic distributed database system analysis, and mathematical model derivation are given. This includes a probabilistic model of conflict. Much insight has been gained in this study about concurrency control in distributed database system. It is believed that this methodology, and analytic analysis can be an example not only for performance analysis and evaluation of other concurrency control methods but also in studying other distributed database problems. |
