Abstract I n spite of the wealth of information and great progress in the understanding of early mammalian development, there are several mechanisms have been proposed to account for the observed changes in the follicles and explaining the dynamic and complex process for follicular growth and maturation under the effect of exogenous hormones and their superovulatory effect through stimulation of this process. Mice was ideal and promising subject that need much effort and research to study this phenomena. Therefore, the present investigation is directed to study the efficiency of different superovulatory regimens and hormones on the ovarian activity , hormonal patterns and the morphological and histological examination of the ovaries during superovulatory treatments . In this study, mature and immature female mice were injected with different doses of PMSG, HCG and FSH, killed at different intervals from oestrous or hormonal treatments . Ovaries were collected and examined by naked eye and under stereomicroscope to determine the ovarian activity and its response to exogenous hormonal treatments .Also , endogenous oestradiol-17 and progesterone levels were estimated in the blood serum before and post-hormonal treatments. |
