Abstract

The present investigation aims to study the effect of different conditions of water supply during different developmental stages of corn plants on some physiological and chemical aspects in the plant as well as on the yield. On the other hand, the current study aims to retest the effects that some of the methods suggest for increasing drought-resistance may have with Maize plants. In all experiments, Maize grains (zea mays), variety Giza hybrid 67 are used. Whatever is the type of presowing seed treatment, soil drought conditions maintained at the seedling-tasseling stage, leads to an inhibiting effect on both plant height and average number of leaves per plant as shown at tasseling when comparing with the case of normal irrigation.
