Abstract

THE atherosclerotic risk factors are divided into a conventional risk factors, which include male sex, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity and smoking which have direct causal role in atherogenesis and b novel risk factors, which include homocysteine, C-reactive protein, fibrinogen, lipoprotein a and microalbuminuria (Cobb et al, 2003).
Over the last few years microalbuminuria had become a prognostic marker and risk for cardiovascular patients with and without diabetes .C- reactive protein (CRP) , is a marker of inflammation and important risk factor of myocardial infarction, stroke, peripheral arterial disease stuveling et al, 2004.
This study aimed to assess the relation between micro0albuminuria and different vascular diseases, and to study its relation with other risk factors of atherosclerosis.
The study was carried out at Menoufiya university hospital and samples were collected from the department of general surgery, ICU, and cardiac department . This study was carried out in the duration from April to October 2005.
The study involved 65 patients 42 males, 23 females, their ides ranged between 33-85 years. In addition 15 apparently healthy age and gender matched subjects were involved in this study as a control group 9 males, 6 females the age of control group ranged between 36-58 years.
